A Sad Story: Because of a horrible misunderstanding at the vet, Grendel's tail was
chopped off like a Rottweiler when he had his ears cropped. (not our regular vet - he
doesn't crop ears)
He did NOT have a screw tail or any other weird thing. He had a
normal tail as you can see from above.

Because he was only 1lb. 1oz. when he was born, we did not have his tail done when he was 2
days old because we thought he might go into shock and die. The plan was to dock the tail
(normally) when he had his ears cropped at 10 weeks. What a horrible event - the first male
in 6 years that I had planned to keep after Grim for myself. (We co-own Druid).I was in
shock when I picked him up and saw the tail. I grieved for his tail everyday, especially
because he was otherwise beautiful, but could never be shown. I valued his life so much and
after awhile I was grateful he was alive and the tail didn't matter so much because we
loved him!

So what a heartache but he was such a sweet boy, I tube-fed and bottle-fed he and his
sister since birth and we were extremely attached to him. I think he was a beautiful boy.
His coat was so luxuriously, velvety soft. He never had any staph infections of the skin as
so many males do. He was a dark charcoal gray like his mother and grandfather (Ellie and
Grim). He had beautiful movement, nice type, nice bone, nice structure and was athletic. He
was everything I love in a young Neo.  He was ALWAYS carrying a toy around in his mouth.
Amazing temperament! He loved life and loved playing in water and running through the
sprinkler.
It's things like this death of a friend that really test me as a breeder - it's hard when
you have such a promising puppy (14 months old) and he's also your pet and your friend.
When you love your dogs, they're like your children and losing one is so hard. It's
sometimes hard to stay positive and go on with breeding.  I've never seen my husband cry
like he did that day and we still both grieve terribly for him.  We miss you so much buddy...
